14 days ago, i saw her again.
There was nothing but the sound of clean dishes clinking against eachother and the TV blaring in the other room. Then, suddenly, there was something else: a rhythmic tap...tap...tap . It was familiar, but like a long-lost friend, i couldnt place it.
At the same time, i couldnt ignore it. I went on trying to scub off old food from the dishes.
But 3 minutes later, i threw down the dish with a clatter. I couldnt work with that constant tapping.
I stared down into the sink. The dish had broke from the middle out. Sweat was dripping down my face, and the tap-tap-tapping wouldnt quit.
I looked outside with a sigh. It was a sunny day; in contrast to the inside of my house, which was dark and musty.
The grass and plants were green and gold, and the prism hanging in the window threw rainbows around the kitchen. Everything practically screamed "Come outside! Come!"
So i did. At least then i wouldnt have to hear that obnoxious rhythm.
She was leaning against the white siding: a total contrast to her entirely black outfit. She was beating her hand against the wall to the beat of the music blasting in her headphones. Her eyes were closed, but they popped open after a few minutes.

"Hey!" she said, grinning and walking towards me.
I couldnt believe it. I couldnt believe she was here. I ran up to her and threw my arms around her. Tears were starting to well up. I felt her hug me back and dig her chin into my shoulder again.
"I miss you..." I muttered/
She nodded into my neck. "I miss you too."
"God, Im sorry. Im so, so sorry." I was sobbing.
Then i realized i was alone, standing in the middle of my backyard, hugging myself and crying.
